This blog is dedicated to our dear friend, Nosson Deitsch OBM, who was tragically torn away from us on Lag B’Omer 5770.

Nosson was a one-of-a kind Bochur who influenced many people, from all ages and backgrounds. He had a perpetual smile on his face and an extremely generous heart. He would do the biggest favor for a friend with only a moment’s notice. All those who knew him feel they had a unique relationship with him.

There are many untold stories of his selflessness, kindness, and the affect he had on countless lives. Please share your story, so that others can get a glimpse into his unique character and towering accomplishments.

A Great Friend to Everyone

By Yechiel Baron

My name is Yechiel Baron, I'm from Miami, Fl. but I am currently learning in Yeshivas Ohr Elechonon in Los Angeles. I first met Nosson A"H this past summer. Rabbi Shochet asked me to come test it out for this year. I was really having doubts giving up my summer to learn in Yeshivah and then I met Nosson. He took me in and made me feel comfortable introducing me to everyone and helping me fit in. I immediately felt at home and knew that I had made the correct choice.
Nosson was a great friend, extremely out going, always a smile for everyone he met, forever going out of his way to make me enjoy my summer to the max. (Going to the park to play basketball with us, taking us to pick up food when the Yeshivah meals just didn't cut it, arranging for all the bochurim to go to an indoor gym and driving everyone there and back... the list is endless.) These are some of the little things he did for me, but this is how he treated everyone.
He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He always had time to make someone else happy. When Nosson went to Miami for the year I was pretty sad, but I knew that I live there and would have a chance to see him. Whenever I was home and he was there I made sure to go out with him or at least see him. Another thing, he never let a week go by without a call to talk to me, to ask how things where going and to brighten my week.
I cannot begin to express my utmost regret on this huge loss. I'm so deeply sorry. Nosson will be missed immensely. Moshiach should come right now so that we can be reunited with Nosson!
