This blog is dedicated to our dear friend, Nosson Deitsch OBM, who was tragically torn away from us on Lag B’Omer 5770.

Nosson was a one-of-a kind Bochur who influenced many people, from all ages and backgrounds. He had a perpetual smile on his face and an extremely generous heart. He would do the biggest favor for a friend with only a moment’s notice. All those who knew him feel they had a unique relationship with him.

There are many untold stories of his selflessness, kindness, and the affect he had on countless lives. Please share your story, so that others can get a glimpse into his unique character and towering accomplishments.

In loving tribute and memory of my friend Nosson Deitsch OBM

By Moshe Burston

Words fail me as I sit and reflect on my friendship with Nosson Deitsch, I find it very hard to believe a very passionate, loving overflowing enthusiastic person was so sadly taken from us at the prime of his life. When I pause and think of Nosson my first reflection and memory is of someone who truly exemplied and truly lived and embodied the very spirit of a very special tomim. Nosson, was always very passionate, very happy, he always made sure to greet his friends with very genuine friendly greeting, he always made sure to inquire about my well-being.
I would like to share my personal memories and recollections of Nosson: I remember how Nosson would wake up an hour before seder to learn Tanya Bal Peh, watching him by the Bima in Zal chazoring full masechtas by heart, on Thursday nights in mesivta in Staten Island he would learn until the wee hours of the morning, not even leaving Zal to go sleep in the dorm, he would go behind the mechitza to catch just a few minutes of sleep!
Every Miftzah that Yeshiva undertook Nosson would be the first to initiate and implement, and ultimately supercharge and motivate us to rally behind him. Nosson, had the great ability to contribute so much to the general avir of the Yeshiva.
These are my humble memories of the larger than life persona and amazing spirit of my friend Nosson Deitsch. May he be a Guteh Beter for all us and may beseech Hashem to send Moshiach now!
