This blog is dedicated to our dear friend, Nosson Deitsch OBM, who was tragically torn away from us on Lag B’Omer 5770.

Nosson was a one-of-a kind Bochur who influenced many people, from all ages and backgrounds. He had a perpetual smile on his face and an extremely generous heart. He would do the biggest favor for a friend with only a moment’s notice. All those who knew him feel they had a unique relationship with him.

There are many untold stories of his selflessness, kindness, and the affect he had on countless lives. Please share your story, so that others can get a glimpse into his unique character and towering accomplishments.

Mivtzoim Memories

By Mendy Sagorsky and Yakov Yehudah Shusterman

Nosson was a Shliach in YOEC last year, where we have been learning this year and last. Like everyone who knew him, we have many happy memories of Nosson. He was the most enjoyable guy to have around and was an excellent role model for all of us. There is much too say about his tremendous Chayos and Hasmodeh, and we would like to share eyewitness testimony as to the deep impression that he made on everyone he met. Everyone loved him.

Shortly after we heard the terrible news that Nosson had been so tragically torn from our midst, we were asked to help make a Minyen at a Shivah in the Valley, LA. The husband of a lady who was sitting Shivah started talking about the bochurim who used to come on Mivtzoim to him last year, Nosson Dietch and JJ Sabol. He spoke about Nosson with tremendous enthusiasm, telling us how he used to look forward to his weekly visits to his store. He especially enjoyed to hear Divrei Torah and stories from him, in his own words, “Nosson is an awesome guy!”. For about five or ten minutes he went on and on about how he loves him and wants to call him, “Tomorrow I’m going to call Rabbi Rivkin and get Nossons number”. He did not know that Nosson had been taken from us that very day, and we had not the heart to tell him.
