This blog is dedicated to our dear friend, Nosson Deitsch OBM, who was tragically torn away from us on Lag B’Omer 5770.

Nosson was a one-of-a kind Bochur who influenced many people, from all ages and backgrounds. He had a perpetual smile on his face and an extremely generous heart. He would do the biggest favor for a friend with only a moment’s notice. All those who knew him feel they had a unique relationship with him.

There are many untold stories of his selflessness, kindness, and the affect he had on countless lives. Please share your story, so that others can get a glimpse into his unique character and towering accomplishments.

You are Awesome

By Levi Diskin

In Chasidus we are taught that words reveal the hidden depth, though it may conceal part of the thought. To put into words all of Nosson would be impractical, I can only bring up some fond memories and cherish the memories in my mind.

Nosson was a very popular boy in school; people flocked around him yet he found it his mission to reach out to everyone to make them feel good and cheerful.

When I first met Nosson in 4th grade, I and had a very hard time fitting in. Nosson immediately discerned my predicament and helped me, making sure that I was included in the class projects, even going so far as to inviting me to sleep over a number of times. With his genuine and warm expression I felt like I was one of his best friends.

Nosson was the rare jewel in the chest, he was able at such a young to care about someone else, though it meant relinquishing his popularity. When the other children would look down at him for spending time with “the Nebach group”, he didn't mind; making another happy was his priority.

As we grew older, his love only increased, spending a year with him in Israel, I watched as he conversed with Israeli bochurim who were not only younger and on a different social level, but even the unfortunate bochurim who were generally ignored he manage to touch them with his special charm,

When asked why he felt the need to get involved with them he would smile simply and reply
“IF IT MAKES THEM HAPPY, IT MAKES ME HAPPY”. This was Nosson, his whole life he lived on the mitzvah of Ahavas Yisroel.

His signature saying was: YOU ARE AWESOME MAN I LOVE YOU MAN YOU ARE THE BEST. Hearing him say it turned my sour day into delight, and a bitter moment into bliss.

Nosson you taught us how to make someone feel good, everyone you met felt like they were your best friend, when you passed away tears were flowing, people out there that you don’t even know were affected by your attitude.

I miss you tremendously, nostalgic for the day when you will be cheering up the crowd when Moshiach will come. I can so see you jumping on the table, and screaming at us “ZOG LECHAIM hooo hooo c'mon guys what is wrong with you Moshiach is here!”
